Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas everyone! Just a little reminder that our worship services this week are as follows: Milbrulong Friday, 22nd December at 6.30pm Wagga Wagga Sunday, 24th December at 9.30am Sunday, 24th December at 7.00pm Monday, 25th December at 8.30am Below are a few photographs taken at the annual Christmas party we held last Sunday in Athol Street. Plenty of yummy food was provided for us, with lots of salads and cold meats, and of course there were just too many choices for dessert, meaning only those that had paced themselves during the first course could manage to go back for seconds. Elma was chosen this year to cut the Christmas cake, a piece of which we all took home. Thanks to the ladies that put on such a feast for us. Between the food, the singing and the christmas quiz, it was a lovely lunch and an entertaining afternoon.

Christmas Cheer and Charity

Image
The Ladies Fellowship hosted the Annual Christmas Party earlier this month with around forty people able to attend.  The Christmas Party is a two-fold event - Christmas cheer and charity. The christmassy place settings, ready and waiting. The cheer came in the form of company and conviviality with ham, turkey and plenty of salads on offer, followed up by trifles, tarts, pavlovas, fruit salads, puddings and brandy custard.  And if the diners felt so moved, they were encouraged to make a donation to Lutheran World Service's Gifts of Grace. The Christmas Cake: back by popular demand, baked by Leonie and decorated by Ange. June undertaking the ceremonial cake-cutting. Some of the desserts that were on offer - Yum! The placemats proved a hit once again - this year a Christmas quiz was the feature. How many can you answer without resorting to your favourite search engine? A Quick Christmas Quiz : 1. How many Wise Men were there, according to the Bible?...

The Kids' Christmas

During this week's service in Athol Street, our Sunday School kids (with a little help from Nick, Alex, Michael and Lydia) presented the nativity story to the congregation. Sadly, we were missing the Wise Men and our Mary on the day but the show must go on! Chilling out before going on stage Michael and Lydia lighting the advent candles Two very sweet angels Joseph didn't appreciate Jesus' crying A cheeky angel and shepherd

Christmas Lunch 2015

Image
The annual Christmas Lunch was held in the Damschke Hall this week. The hall looked lovely with its christmas decorations, the company was notably jovial, and the food - the food was delicious, particularly the desserts! During the lunch, Pastor Clem was presented with a book voucher as a thank you for the use of his auditing skills during the year and Jan was given the honour of cutting the cake.

Combined Churches Christmas Concert

Image
Bethlehem Wagga played host to the Combined Churches Christmas Concert on Monday. Over seventy people attended from denominations all over Wagga. Eight performances of skits and songs were given, some with a Christmas theme, some without, all performed with an enthusiasm that was lovely to see. The Salvation Army also had a wonderful message about the gift we can give to God this Christmas. And as well as speaking on the work of the Christian Education Team , Liz acted as MC for the event (armed with the obligatory Christmas jokes of a certain standard).
