The Ladies Fellowship hosted the Annual Christmas Party earlier this month with around forty people able to attend.  The Christmas Party is a two-fold event - Christmas cheer and charity. The christmassy place settings, ready and waiting. The cheer came in the form of company and conviviality with ham, turkey and plenty of salads on offer, followed up by trifles, tarts, pavlovas, fruit salads, puddings and brandy custard.  And if the diners felt so moved, they were encouraged to make a donation to Lutheran World Service's Gifts of Grace. The annual Christmas Lunch was held in the Damschke Hall this week. The hall looked lovely with its christmas decorations, the company was notably jovial, and the food - the food was delicious, particularly the desserts! During the lunch, Pastor Clem was presented with a book voucher as a thank you for the use of his auditing skills during the year and Jan was given the honour of cutting the cake.

We celebrated the annual Longest Lutheran Lunch at the Lutheran School Wagga Wagga today. The day started out with a worship service, ably led by Michael and Pastor Clem, with musical assistance by Joanna and the Lieschke girls. Following the service, there was time for a cuppa and quick chat while lunch was set up. We also took the chance to get the oldest and youngest people with us together for a moment: Linda, at 102 years and Micah, just 5 days old. Then it was off to lunch...

It was a bittersweet day in Athol Street on Sunday. We witnessed a lovely little girl baptised into God's family and Bec G. became an official member of the Wagga Wagga Lutheran Parish. But then we had to say goodbye to Pastor Mike and Narelle. We have been so glad they were able to spend the last year with us, sharing with us their love, support, and special talents, and we all wish them God's blessings in their future work.

Ken and Audrey, Ian and Margaret, and Mike and Narelle opened their homes for three delicious courses on Saturday for the Progressive Dinner.
