In preparation for the arrival of our new minister, the manse has been given a bit of a face-lift. The bathrooms have been updated, the walls painted, the carpet replaced and the tiles around the kitchen wall are now a beautiful white.  On Saturday it was all hands on deck to give the rest of the place a good scrub.

Over the last month, a few of our members have been working to prepare the kitchen in the Damschke Memorial Hall for a bit of a make-over.  The renovations have been some time in the making but they are now complete! Pastor Mike sees whether the scissor lift will serve as an alternative pulpit  but discovers it to be a little rocky for fiery preaching. The Renovation Work Continues... Working Bees were held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday this week to continue the renovation work happening at Bethlehem. The ceiling has been fixed with the scissor-lift proving a perfect piece of equipment for this work. After a few lessons the crew were in and out amongst the pews with great skill. In addition to this ceiling repair a start has been made on preparing for recarpeting with the stairs to the loft having the carpet removed and a clean up of the loft area being undertaken. Cabling to the data projector has been replaced and upgraded, cabling for the sound system run from front to back and all flouros in the ceiling lights replaced. Work has begun on the remodelling work planned for Bethlehem. Including carpeting, painting, repairs, insulation, and refurbishment this will be a welcome makeover for our worship space. The earliest work was completed this week with insulation being added to the church hall. Work also began on opening up the front of the church by the removal of the pulpit and the baptismal font. Some hard work by a couple of demolition "experts" was the first step and was followed by a clean up afterwards. See if you can identify the "experts" from the before, during and after photos displayed below. BEFORE : DURING : AFTER : Following last week's message there was some discussion as to whether this would be considered an act of helpfulness. Perhaps it fails the test of being the sort of thing that nobody would notice??? But it certainly helped the process along. Well done to the workers (whoever they were).
