Pitch and Putt 2015

Image
Pentecost was a memorable day at Bethlehem Wagga this year. During the service, we were privileged to witness the baptism of little Isaac into God's family. And on entering the church, we were greeted with this delightful addition above the altar: In the afternoon, a somewhat enthusiastic group of people gathered at the Pitch and Putt course for a small competition. After the individual groups had played their games, there wasn't a clear winner: instead, we had three! So, a playoff was in order. VICTORIOUS! A few of the participants were caught mid-swing by our photographer - with sincerest apologies for any distraction caused! Concentrate.... Pastor John demonstrating calmness and self-assurance. Our Fashions in the Field winner - showing style in both dress and swing! Ooooo, so close! Blame it on the paparazzi. It's all in the stance! The most awkward shot of the day? Afternoon tea was very welcome afterwards

Our Care and Share crafters have been very busy of late, working on a new project for Angels for the Forgotten. If you've not heard of the Angels yet, they're a volunteer group established in Wagga in 2010 who work to give practical support to vulnerable and abused children, youth and families in the local community. They also aim to assist carers of special needs children with mental health disorders and related conditions. Have a read of their website: www.angelsfortheforgotten.org A huge load of woollen items created by Care and Share were delivered to the Angels' warehouse last week, where they were very much appreciated. So much so, that the Angels have given Care and Share a big box of knitting yarn so that more can be done. Work has already commenced on the next delivery! Care and Share meets on Wednesday mornings, from 10am to 12pm. Anyone and everyone can come along and join in. You don't even have to be craft-ily inclined - if you like a chat and a cuppa
