Recycling a Christmas Tree

This year we recycled our Christmas tree. After Christmas it was left out to dry and then used to construct a cross.

During the Sundays of Lent, the children saw a new item added to the cross before they went to Sunday School; drops of blood, a whip, crown of thorns, hammer and nails, robe and dice, and finally a spear.

On Easter Sunday, the cross was decorated with flowers and butterflies which the children made in Sunday School. This idea was adapted and expanded from our LCA Lenten worship resources on www.lca.org.au/worship.
